Information Technology Project:
Swesco Alumni Association – North America initiated a project in 2014 to upgrade the information technology infrastructure at Swedru Senior High School (SWESCO). A fifteen thousand dollar ($15,000.00) phase 1 of the project started in May 2014 and was completed in May 2015. The phase 1 covered development of the architecture and building of a wireless network to offer efficient internet access to students and staff of SWESCO
Under phase 2 of the project, computer laboratories were revamped with new equipment, including servers and workstations. The computer laboratories, staff common and administrative offices have been connected to the wireless network. The Association has also secured a reliable fast internet service for the school. A total of about twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) has been spent on the IT project.
Dining Hall Project
During the first quarter of 2012 Swesco Alumni Association – North America donated one hundred (100) new dining hall tables worth ten thousand dollars ($10, 000) to replace aged and deteriorating tables (see new report).
The Association will be embarking on a refurbishment and modernization of the School Library as its latest project. The existing library has been relocated to the complex and the Association will restock the library with reading and reference materials as well as computers and other technological tools to support teaching and learning. The project is estimated to cost $25,000.00 and it is projected to be completed by the end of 2018 and commemorated in 2019 during the 60th Anniversary Celebrations of the School.
